Quilted winter barefoot shoes

When snow covers the sidewalks and the wind stings your cheeks, the temptation is to put your barefoot shoes away until spring. These, however, were created for winter: quilted and insulating upper, warm interior, rubber sole with deep lugs that grip on snow, ice and slush.

The upper resists bad weather and protects from freezing wind and wet snow, so the foot stays warm and dry. Despite this they remain flexible, with the completely flat plant and zero drop typical of barefoot shoes. The extra wide toe accommodates even the thickest wool socks without compressing the toes. They slip on like a slip-on, with the help of the loop on the heel, and the elastic cord on the instep keeps them in place. They're perfect for commuting to work on a snowy morning, for shoveling the driveway or for a whitewashed path on the weekend.
